Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
Own your data. Own yourself.
humique is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. Your personal information stays on your device unless you decide to share it.
1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how the humique browser extension ("humique", "we", "us") handles your data when you use our product.
This policy applies only to the humique browser extension and any related beta program you choose to join.
2. Data we collect
2.1 Profile data (stored locally)
Inside the extension, you can create and manage a personal profile of your preferences, habits, and other personal context.
This data:
- Is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage
- Never leaves your device automatically
- Is only shared with AI platforms when you explicitly choose to, e.g. by clicking "Inject Profile"
- Can be edited, exported, imported, or deleted at any time from within the extension
Examples of this data include:
- Preferences (e.g. favorite foods, travel style)
- Habits (e.g. how often you exercise)
- Personal context relevant for AI (e.g. work background, learning goals)
2.2 Local AI processing
humique uses machine learning models that run entirely in your browser to improve context matching:
- Embedding models: We use open-source embedding models (BGE-small) to understand the semantic meaning of your profile data and match it with your prompts.
- All processing is local: These models run directly in your browser using WebAssembly (WASM) technology. No data is sent to external AI services for this processing.
- One-time download: The models (~30MB) are downloaded once and cached locally in your browser.
This approach ensures your personal context stays private while enabling intelligent context matching.
2.3 Clipboard access
humique requests clipboard write permission to copy your selected context to the clipboard. This allows you to:
- Copy formatted context snippets with one click
- Paste your profile information into AI chat interfaces
We only write to your clipboard when you explicitly click a copy button. We never read from your clipboard or access clipboard history.
2.4 Beta program data (optional)
If you join our beta program, we may collect:
- Your email address (for updates and feedback)
- Your join date
- A beta user ID
This data:
- Is stored on Supabase servers located in the EU
- Is used only to run the beta program and communicate with you
- Can be deleted at any time on request or via the extension settings
3. What we do not collect
When you use humique, we do not collect or store:
- Your browsing history
- Your chat content with AI platforms
- Usage analytics or telemetry
- Tracking cookies or advertising identifiers
- Any profile data on our own servers
- Data for resale or sharing with third parties
We do not run third-party trackers inside the extension.
4. How your data is used
| Data type | Purpose | Where it is stored |
|---|---|---|
| Profile & preferences | To personalize and enrich your AI prompts | Local browser storage |
| ML models & embeddings | To match your context with prompts locally | Local browser cache |
| Clipboard (write only) | To copy selected context for pasting | Your system clipboard |
| Beta program email & ID | To manage the beta program and send updates | Supabase (EU servers) |
4.1 Interaction with AI platforms
When you choose to inject context (for example into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity or Grok):
- humique formats your selected profile data
- humique inserts this data into the chat input field in your browser
- You can review and edit this text before sending it
This is always a user-initiated action. We never send data to AI platforms automatically in the background.
5. Third-party services
5.1 AI platforms (user-initiated only)
humique can assist you in sharing your personal context with AI tools such as:
- ChatGPT
- Claude
- Gemini
- Perplexity
- Grok
When you use the extension's "inject" or similar functions, your chosen data is shared directly with the AI platform you are using, under their respective terms and privacy policies. We do not control those platforms and encourage you to review their policies separately.
5.2 Supabase (beta program only)
If you join the beta program:
- Your email, join date, and beta ID are stored on Supabase (EU-hosted).
- This data is used only for beta operations (e.g. sending updates, managing access).
- You can request deletion at any time.
6. Your rights & controls
Within the extension, you can:
- View all profile data stored locally
- Edit or update any entry
- Export your profile to a file for backup
- Import a previously exported profile
- Delete all local data with a single action
For beta program data, you can:
- Opt out of communications
- Request deletion of your email and beta record
To request deletion of beta data, contact us using the email address below.
7. Data security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data:
- Profile data is stored locally in your browser's extension storage, accessible only to this extension.
- No profile data is sent to our servers.
- Data is only transmitted to AI platforms when you explicitly trigger it.
No system can be 100% secure, but our design goal is to minimize risk by keeping your personal context on your device by default.
8. Children's privacy
humique is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect or process data from users under this age. If you believe a child under 16 is using humique and has provided personal data, please contact us so we can delete any beta program information associated with them.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated via the extension or email (for beta users).
10. Contact
