1. Description of the Service

The humique browser extension is a personal context tool that allows you to:

• Collect and organize your own preferences, habits, and personal context data
• Store this data locally in your browser
• Use local machine learning models (running entirely in your browser) to improve context matching
• Copy selected context to your clipboard for easy pasting into AI platforms
• Share selected context with AI platforms (such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Grok) when you choose to
• Export, import, and manage your personal data within the Extension

The Extension is provided as-is and may be updated, improved, or changed over time.

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the Extension only for lawful purposes
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, modify, or redistribute the Extension without permission
• Not use the Extension to collect or share personal data of others without their consent
• Provide accurate information if you join our beta program

You are responsible for how you use the Extension and for any data you decide to share with AI platforms.

3. Data and Privacy

Your privacy is core to how humique is designed.

• Your personal profile and preference data are stored exclusively in your browser's local storage.
• We do not automatically collect or store your personal profile data on our own servers.
• If you join our beta program, we process your email address and minimal metadata (e.g. join date, beta user ID) to operate the program and communicate with you. This data is stored on Supabase servers in the EU and can be deleted on request or via the extension settings.

If these Terms and the Privacy Policy ever seem inconsistent, the Privacy Policy governs how we handle your personal data.

4. Interaction with Third-Party Services

The Extension is designed to work with third-party AI platforms, such as:

• ChatGPT
• Claude
• Gemini
• Perplexity
• Grok

When you choose to inject or share your context, the Extension:

• Formats your selected profile data, and
• Inserts it into the input field of the AI platform in your browser, where you can review, edit, or delete it before sending.

We are not responsible for:

• How these platforms process or store the data you share with them
• The availability, security, or functionality of these platforms
• Any changes made by these platforms that affect how the Extension works

Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

5. Intellectual Property

The Extension, including its code, design, branding, and all related content, is owned by humique UG (haftungsbeschränkt)

You may:

• Install and use the Extension for your personal or internal business use, subject to these Terms.

You may not, without our prior written consent:

• Copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the Extension
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notices

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Extension is provided "as is" and "as available".

We do not make any promises or guarantees that:

• The Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or always available
• The Extension will be compatible with all browsers, systems, or AI platforms
• All bugs or issues will be fixed

To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all statutory and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• humique UG (haftungsbeschränkt) and its founders, employees, and contractors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or in connection with your use of the Extension.
• Our total aggregate liability for any claims relating to the Extension is limited to the amount (if any) you have paid us for using the Extension in the 12 months prior to the event giving rise to the claim (most likely: €0).

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where this is not allowed by law (for example, in cases of gross negligence, intentional misconduct, or certain consumer protection rights).

8. Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time, for example when we add new features or as laws change.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top.

Continued use of the Extension after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must uninstall and stop using the Extension.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Extension at any time, in particular if:

• You violate these Terms, or
• We discontinue or significantly change the Extension.

You can stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser and, if you wish, deleting all local data within the Extension.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If you are a business user, any disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Hamburg, Germany.

If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence may also apply, and you may have the right to bring claims in your local courts.
